EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND PREPAREDNESS: An interview with PACER Co-Director Dr. Lynn Goldman ... If a community knows the risks it faces, how does it prepare for them?

For the April 3 edition of "Homeland Security Inside & Out," co-hosts Dave McIntyre and Randy Larsen interviewed Dr. Lynn Goldman, co-director of PACER, the DHS National Center for the Study of Preparedness and Catastrophic Event Response. The mission of PACER is to establish the scientific foundation for and principles of the practice of preparedness and response to catastrophic high-consequence events. In this interview, Dr. Goldman explains how PACER is working to establish metrics for community preparedness. These metrics will answer the question: "If you understand what the risks are, what do you need to do?" she says.
